Parody of Confession in Victorian England

The complete text under the picture is the following: Father Skoggs: “No women come to me for confession, but I can get hold of some boys.” Rev. Horatio Morphiamoses (in biretta): “Oh, I assure you Brother Skoggs the women flock to my confessional, some of the most exalted and loveliest females! Who kneel at my feet and confide in me as their spiritual husband or rather Father I mean!” (The Rev HM is considered by his spiritual spouses “or rather” daughters to resemble St Alphonsus so he poses himself accordingly in various saintly attitudes).
