This first-year course aims to introduce students to the great historical events that have made Britain the country it is today. The course includes the study of historical documents and an introduction to historical method. Regular attendance in class and regular work at home is mandatory.

A step-by-step guide to using Hypothes.is
As part of your homework, you will be asked to annotate historical documents by using the Hypothesis online annotation tool. Please follow the instructions on this page.
Exam dates
The two exams will consist in the commentary of a historical document about a topic we will have discussed in class.
Mid-term exam: 12th November
End-of-term exam: 17th December
